the problem with no name

50 years ago an asylum: problem with no name.

I scrub the toilet and put on the dinner and put on the laundry and

I teach your children.

I’ll mend the buttons and I’ll read the books and I’ll write the shopping lists

and I’ll take my many pills

Swallow it all down

With a cup of tea

Mostly a poetess, sometimes a shrew; I’m a problem with no name.

Millie Cole (she/her), originally from Portsmouth, England, grew up in Tauranga Moana. Having recently graduated Victoria University with a BA in English and History, she is now studying a Master of Teaching and Learning (and loving it) back home in the Bay. When not student teaching, you will find her in an op-shop, reading or on a run through the lovely landscapes that surround her.
